There is birth, death and then birth. death of ego is birth is birth of a new path and hope grows on a new path. How important is one`s ego?

As long as it keeps one`s self-esteem at a certain level it is good. I suppose so, not sure. But I do believe in good and bad ego. good ego is one that will do good for you in the long run as in keeping your level of confidence high. bad ego is false pride...
